Opening of new New York office

We are pleased to announce the further expansion of our global network with the opening of a new office in New York.

The New York office, located in Broad Street, will focus on managing large energy, property, financial institutions and business interruption claims. In addition, the operation will seek to manage national and global insurance programmes.

Chairman of Charles Taylor Adjusting, Joe McMahon, comments: “This new operation in New York provides us with an excellent springboard from which to expand further in the North American property claims market. We already have offices in Miami, Houston, Dallas and across Canada, and our plan is to further build up our presence over the next 12 to 24 months, creating a strong network of offices throughout North America, serving the larger and more complex losses.”

For the New York operation, Charles Taylor Adjusting has appointed Des Sullivan as President. Des Sullivan joins the organisation from Crawford Global Technical Services and has 34 years of claims adjusting experience. In that time he has worked out of offices in London, Jamaica, Singapore, Thailand, Los Angeles and New York. For the past 12 years he has been based in New York with Crawford Global Technical Services, and from 2001 onwards he was the Managing Director for Global Technical Services` central east coast and north eastern regions. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Loss Adjusters, a Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute and a member of FUEDI.

Joe McMahon adds: “Des has extensive experience of handling large commercial and industrial losses, as well as managing national and global accounts for Fortune 500 companies. We are delighted to welcome someone of his caliber to our organization.”

Commenting on his new role, Des Sullivan says: “I was attracted by the quality and type of work that Charles Taylor is looking to pursue. There is a great deal of synergy between the contacts that I bring to the business with those clients that Charles Taylor already deals with. I relish the challenge of building a credible and recognizable reputation for the business here in New York.”
